This place was also the main commercial area of the world because it is connecting three continents and the sea surrounding it. Trivial to note, at this time Turkey has a unique position. Gobekli Tepe is a site known as the oldest shrine structure made by humans around 10,000 BC, while the Neolithic Çatalhöyük is a settlement and Kalkolitikum in southern Anatolia, circa 7500 BC to 5700 BC. In July 2012, the second site is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Settlements in the Age of Troy started in the Neolithic and continued through the Iron Age.
Note the earliest Anatolian population is Hatti and the United Nations Huri, the nations of non-Indo-Europeans who inhabited central and eastern Anatolia, respectively at the beginning of 2300 BC. Hittites came to Anatolia in 2000-1700 BC. The first great empire in the area was founded by the Hittites, from the eighteenth century to the 13th century BC. Assyrians conquered the southeastern part of Turkey and settled there in the early 1950 BC to 612 BC.
After the collapse of the Hittite empire in 1180 BC, ruled the kingdom of Phrygia in Anatolia until their kingdom was destroyed by the Tribe Kimmeri the 7th century BC.
